Fashion Blog CompetitionFashion Blog Competition Nowadays information has become the most valuable notion. Today’s world is concentrated on the efficiency, speed, brightness of the news – and the evolution of the Internet is largely assisting in this process. It’s almost impossible to imagine the contemporary world of fashion without young people who are constantly blogging, twittering and commenting the photos on facebook. The Internet has caused the emergence of the new form of communication, where anybody can share one’s opinion or write an article about some event. Today the blogs become the main source of information about events, people and news. And fashion (being inseparable from the communication sphere) is one of the main topics for discussion in blogs. We cannot disregard the fact that bloggers-journalists often have an innovatory approach to describing the events: young, expressive and sometimes even aggressive. But this subjective appraisal is what makes blogging different from other mass media. The Organizing Committee BFW, following the examples of its foreign colleagues, pays great attention to the development of the creative potential of the youth. We see the perspective of the future Belarusian fashion-journalism and strive for its development. Fashion Blog Competition aims at promoting young authors by drawing the public attention to their blogs and web-pages. What’s more, the contest helps to form a generally positive opinion about the Belarusian blogs as the sources of information about fashion. Fashion Blog Competition is an open contest for fashion-journalists, bloggers, and writers under 35 years old. This season there were 8 participants in the contest of main fashion bloggers of Belarus.
- Nastya Piven’ During 3 weeks they were describing the work of the Fashion Week in details, fulfilling the contest tasks of BFW Organizing Committee, attending all fashion shows and lectures of Fashion Study Centre BFW.
The jury of this season’s edition of the contest consisted of the contest coordinator Marina-Alisa Sergievskaya, Yanina Hancharova (CEO of Belarus Fashion Week) and worldwide known blogger Yvan Rodic – they evaluated the participating blogs accordingly to the following criteria: - quality covering of all fashion shows and events, the use of professional terms in the texts; - regular updating of the information; - presence of the appropriate photo-material; - work with social media and networks; - high attendance of the blog or web-page; - presence of the appropriate translation (review) to English or French languages. The name of the winner was announced at the grand party of Belarus Fashion Week by Marko at Robinson Club. As a result, Maya Starovojtova (http://vanilla4sky.blogspot.com/) was awarded with a title of the best fashion-blogger of Belarus. The main prize is a trip to Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days – a mecca for European fashion-bloggers - in October 2012!
A special prize – a book about fashion – got Olga Kovtunenko (http://www.fashionburo.blogspot.com/) as the winner of the nomination of the informational partner of the competition kyky.org.
